Tree service in Ladera Ranch

A Planned Community With Mature Canopy

Ladera Ranch was built as a master-planned community, and much of its character comes from its trees: shaded paseos, tree-lined collector streets and village parks that have filled in over the years. Villages such as Covenant Hills, Oak Knoll and Terramor each have their own look, and many backyards border slopes or open space at the edge of the ranch. As those trees mature, roots begin to lift walkways, canopies crowd rooflines, and limbs reach over property walls into common areas.

Inland from the coast, summers are hotter and drier, which changes how trees here handle stress and how often they need attention.

★★★★★Crown Reduction
“Worked in a professional manor. Cleaned the neighbors yard, our yard and the street. We were very pleased with removing part of our large Chinese Elm and thinning out the crown.”
Karl Barbour, review on Google (opens in a new tab) Oct 2026
★★★★★Clean-up
“Luna has trimmed the 6 trees on our property for the last 2 years, and they do an excellent job. The trees look great, and they are super clean, so your yard looks perfect when they are done.”
Karen Parker, review on Google (opens in a new tab) Oct 2026
★★★★★Years of repeat work
“We have been using Luna tree for many years. A few days ago Isidro and Francisco did a great job in trimming our Peppermint tree and cleaning-up afterwords, at a reasonable price. Thank you Luna Tree!”
Tony Pira, review on Google (opens in a new tab) Oct 2026

How we work

Our services, explained

Inland Species, Different Needs

Typical Ladera Ranch yards and streets include sycamores, coast live oaks, jacarandas, crape myrtles, Brisbane box and Chinese elms, along with pepper trees and palms in some backyards. Sycamores and jacarandas drop a lot of leaf and seed litter, and fast-growing street species can outgrow small planters. Oaks are best pruned lightly and at the right time of year. Trees planted in narrow parkways between the sidewalk and the curb are especially prone to root conflicts, and root pruning there should be done carefully so the tree stays stable. Where homes back onto open space, removing dead wood and keeping canopies off roofs helps during Santa Ana wind events.

HOA, LARMAC and County Notes

Ladera Ranch is unincorporated Orange County rather than a city, and nearly every home sits within an HOA. The Ladera Ranch Maintenance Corporation (LARMAC) and the village associations have guidelines that can cover trees visible from the street, and the HOA usually handles trees in common areas. Before removing or replacing a front-yard tree, check with your association about any architectural approval it needs, and check with the County of Orange for anything near a slope or open space. Once you have approval, we can schedule the work.
