Tree service in Laguna Beach

Canyons, Ridges and Coves

Laguna Beach is a town of hillsides. Homes in Top of the World, Arch Beach Heights and Mystic Hills sit high on ridges with long ocean views, while Bluebird Canyon and Laguna Canyon wind inland between steep slopes. Down at the water, neighborhoods like Three Arch Bay and South Laguna back onto rocky coves, and the stretch around Main Beach and Heisler Park is full of mature public and private trees. Access is often the hardest part of a job here: narrow streets, long staircases and almost no parking.

We plan for that before arrival, with the right-sized crew and gear and a clear plan for getting cut material out without damaging landscaping or blocking a neighbor's driveway.

★★★★★Crown Reduction
“Worked in a professional manor. Cleaned the neighbors yard, our yard and the street. We were very pleased with removing part of our large Chinese Elm and thinning out the crown.”
Karl Barbour, review on Google (opens in a new tab) Oct 2026
★★★★★Clean-up
“Luna has trimmed the 6 trees on our property for the last 2 years, and they do an excellent job. The trees look great, and they are super clean, so your yard looks perfect when they are done.”
Karen Parker, review on Google (opens in a new tab) Oct 2026
★★★★★Years of repeat work
“We have been using Luna tree for many years. A few days ago Isidro and Francisco did a great job in trimming our Peppermint tree and cleaning-up afterwords, at a reasonable price. Thank you Luna Tree!”
Tony Pira, review on Google (opens in a new tab) Oct 2026

How we work

Our services, explained

What Grows on Laguna's Slopes

Eucalyptus is common on the ridges and in older canyon properties; it grows fast, drops bark and limbs, and benefits from regular inspection. Monterey cypress and pines are typical windbreaks near the bluffs. In the canyons you will often see coast live oaks and western sycamores, natives that call for light, careful pruning rather than heavy cuts. Palms, ficus and flowering trees such as jacaranda round out many garden lots. On fire-prone hillsides, keeping dead wood and dry fronds cleared is part of good upkeep.

View, Heritage and Fire Rules to Check

Laguna Beach has its own rules about trees and views, and some trees may carry heritage status. Before removing or heavily trimming a mature tree, check with the City of Laguna Beach about any permit or approval it needs. Homes near open space may also have fuel-modification requirements set by the fire department, and gated communities such as Three Arch Bay have their own associations. We are happy to work from whatever approvals or HOA guidelines you already have.
